smoke extraction in technical shafts
Airtight shafts with integrated fire protection
Nowadays, buildings often require technical shafts, which usually have to be equipped with expensive and labour-intensive fire protection devices (fire dampers) in order to comply with fire safety regulations. BlueKit eliminates the need for such installations, reducing both effort and costs while increasing safety.
Technical shafts often also need to be sealed to achieve energy efficiency and airtightness targets (e.g. for blower door tests). At the same time, however, building regulations require smoke extraction in the event of a fire.
BlueKit resolves this conflict by integrating a certified closure element that remains shut during regular operation and opens only in emergencies to allow smoke to escape safely through the roof. This prevents smoke from spreading through the building and thereby supports safe evacuation.
-
The shaft remains sealed under normal conditions. A certified closure element (roof hood or internal flap) is integrated at the top.
-
In case of fire, the system opens automatically enabling fast, directed smoke extraction through the roof.
-
Smoke is prevented from entering escape routes or spreading throughout the building.
